Our client is hiring its first Lead Smart Contract Engineer to architect, implement, and manage the lifecycle of the Solana programs that power our on-chain products. You will work closely with the CTO, mentor junior engineers, and drive new protocol launches as well as upgrades to existing programs.
Key responsabilities
- Design and architect Solana programs and their on-chain account structures from concept to mainnet deployment.
- Implement and test high-performance programs in Rust using the Anchor framework.
- Own deployments across all Solana clusters (mainnet-beta, devnet, testnet) and manage the entire program lifecycle.
- Maintain and upgrade existing programs, handling Solana’s native u
- Strengthen security by writing extensive tests, running static analyzers, and coordinating external audits.
- Collaborate with frontend and product teams to deliver end-to-end DeFi features on Solana.
- Mentor and lead junior Rust/Anchor engineers, and help shape the on-chain architecture roadmap.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience architecting and deploying Solana programs in Rust.
- Successfully launched Solana protocols to mainnet-beta that have passed third-party audits.
- Deep knowledge of the Solana Program Model, Sealevel runtime, Program Derived Addresses (PDAs), account validation, and common attack vectors.
- Proficiency with the Anchor framework, solana-cli, and @solana/web3.js.
- Comfortable with Solana’s Cross-Program Invocation (CPI) model and familiar with cross-chain communication protocols like Wormhole.
- You have a strong testing culture, with unit, integration, and fuzz tests built into your CI pipelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear technical specifications and audit reports.
- Able to thrive in a fast-moving, high-ownership startup environment and set technical direction.
